iFixit shared a teardown video of the Apple Watch Ultra today, offering a deeper look at the watch’s internal design and components.

While the Apple Watch Ultra has four exposed pentalobe screws on the back case for quick access inside the watch, iFixit said the device remains difficult to repair. For example, after removing the back casing, iFixit said that a seal that contributed to the water resistance of the Apple Watch Ultra was immediately broken. Additionally, accessing parts such as the battery and the Taptic Engine requires the difficult task of removing the screen.

According to a previous report, the teardown confirms that the Apple Watch Ultra is equipped with a 542 mAh battery, which is 76% larger than the 308 mAh battery in the Apple Watch Series 8 also shown. The teardown also allows for a closer look at the Ultra’s significantly larger speaker, which examines said results in louder phone calls.

The Apple Watch Ultra was launched on Friday. Priced at $799, the premium watch features a rugged design with a 49mm titanium case, flat screen, outdoors-themed bands, water resistance to a depth of 100 yards, a customizable bright orange “Action” button, up to 60 hours of battery life with next low power setting, and more.
